As per the recent data released by Joint Plant Committee, the overall bar and rod production in India by both large and medium/small scale producers stood at 3.188 MnT during Aug’17.
The production surge nearly 22.8% M-o-M in Aug’17 against 2.596 MnT in Jul’17. Further, on yearly premises it gain by 5.62% compared with 2.853 MnT in Aug’16.
Analyzing the total production during CY 2017 (Jan-Aug’17) it increase by 6% to 23.822 MnT against 22.483 MnT in corresponding period last year.
The production increased in line with higher export orders for semis to finished steel products. Also, the government’s initiative to raise India’s steel production and consumption are the major factors behind rise productions.
Industry Wise
1. On monthly comparison in Aug’17, production of Bar & Rod by the large scale makers i.e. SAIL, RINL, JSW, Tata Steel and JSPL marked Incline by approx 14.54% to 1.016 MnT.
2. Production by the Medium and small scale producers also moved up by 11.7% to 1.919 MnT in Aug’17.
