Chennai turned out to be the top destination for export of bar and rod during Sep’16
As per the custom data available with SteelMint. export of bar and rod from India to various countries stood at 32,300 MT during Sep’16, which sharply rose by 130% as compared to Aug’16.
The nation majorly exported material to nearby countries like SriLanka, Myanmar. Chennai turned out to be the major Indian port for exports of finished material followed by JNPT and Katuppali in Sept’16.
Indian large steel producers will gradually increasing export of finished steel product like rebar and wire rod in the upcoming years. The major reason behind increase in exports will be capacity enhancement and they may find lucrative market in the neighbouring countries.
