The Anthracite Coal market in India has continued to bear sluggish demand, and the outlook remained bearish.
Import offers have continued to undergo upward movement in response to rising demand in the international regions. The latest import offer of Anthracite Coal is assessed higher at USD 131/MT CFR India.

Demand in the country has remained lackluster on account of buyers’ preference for other fuels.
In the international regions, demand for the coal is strong. In the Ukraine region, demand for the coal is gaining momentum due to stocking by power plants to meet the peak demand during the winter season.
IMPORTS
Anthracite Coal imports into India have remained bleak on account of weak demand. According to data compiled by CoalMint Research, only 93,440 MT of the coal was imported into the country during the 1-25 Oct’16 period. The importers were: Rawmet Commodities, Jindal Steel and Power and Bengal Energy.
