India’s Hot Briquetted Iron (HBI) imports marginally down in April’13, according to custom data

In April’13 India imports HBI (under Chapter-7203) were Qty 74,300 MT that is marginally drown from March’13 import of qty 76,100 MT.

India mainly imports HBI from Middle East countries. Oman export to India is qty 47,600 MT with an average price of Rs 20200 /t (Duty and taxes extra), and UAE export 25,000 MT. Other remaining quantity from different country. 

In the period of Jan’13 to March’13 Oman exported around 1, 06,000 MT and Malaysia approx 44,000 MT . 

Paradeep the east port of India received qty 45,500 MT (till 29 April’13) from Oman and Magdalla port on west shore of India received qty 21,800 MT and small quantity is nearby Mumbai port. 

HBI import in Paradeep port total at 1, 50,000 MT for the period of Jan’13 to March’13.
