Vedanta is in the process of acquiring land in Dhenkanal, Odisha, for a proposed 3 MTPA aluminium smelter, with plans to double its capacity to 6 MTPA within 3-4 years. The project reflects Vedanta’s commitment to Atmanirbhar Bharat, particularly in reducing dependence on aluminium imports and strengthening a globally competitive value chain. The company is also planning to establish an aluminium park in Jharsuguda, Odisha.
