India’s leading merchant pig iron manufacturer, Vedanta Ltd, has floated an export tender for 40,000 t of steel grade pig iron, SteelMint learnt from sources. The shipment is scheduled for Dec’21. The last export deal was concluded at $570/t CFR Turkey (equivalent to $515-520/t FOB India) in early Nov. India’s pig iron export volumes stood at 1.14 mn t in Jan-Sep’21, as per SteelMint data.
