Vedanta-Ferro Alloys Corporation Ltd (FACOR) will conduct its ferro chrome auction on 22 Oct’26. The auction will feature four lots of high-carbon (HC) ferro chrome, comprising two lots of material with Cr:57% min (10-150 mm), one lot of Cr:54% min (10-20 mm) and another lot of Cr:51% min (0-10 mm).
At the previous auction held on 9 October 2026, the entire offered quantity was booked. The larger lots of HC ferro chrome (Cr:57% min, 10-50 mm and 10-70 mm) opened at INR 118,500/t ($1,247/t) and fetched an H1 price of INR 120,000/t ($1,263/t), up INR 1,500/t ($16/t) from the opening price. The auction featured only sized material, attracting an additional sizing cost of INR 1,500/t ($16/t).
Ferro chrome (HC60%, 10-150 mm) prices were around INR 120,000/t ($1,263/t) exw-Jajpur in the week ended 16 October 2026, supported by regular spot trading and steady buying interest. While prices across most grades have improved modestly, weaker global conditions and a lack of clear demand recovery are limiting further gains. Market participants will watch the upcoming auction for signals on whether domestic price resilience can be sustained.
