India: US thermal coal prices fall by INR 400/t w-o-w at Tuna Port

Portside prices of US 6900 kcal/kg NAR coal were assessed at INR 21,300/t at Tuna Port today, down by INR 400/t w-o-w. Trading activity of US coal has come under pressure amid cheaper availability of high-CV Russian coal with prices of 6500 kcal/kg NAR grade standing much lower at INR 19,500/t. Rising European demand for US coal would limit India’s coal imports from the country in the coming months.
