Portside prices of US 6900 kcal/kg NAR coal have declined to INR 18,800/t at Kandla Port, down INR 3,200/t in the last two weeks as prices had been assessed at INR 22,000/t on 15 Mar’22. Buying appetite of end-users continues to remain limited as they await further price correction. Some brick kiln owners were heard buying small quantities of US coal ahead of monsoon.
