Talwandi Sabo Power Limited (TSPL), a subsidiary of Vedanta Limited, has intended expression of interest from reputed vendors who wish to enter into contract for coal supplies at its 1980 MW power station located at Punjab.
The company has invited bids for supply of 300,000 MT imported /domestic non-coking coal on FOR delivered basis at its plant’s location.
The tender document depicting the coal specification and time schedule for bidding process is likely to be made available by 8 Oct’19.
TSPL had earlier carried out tender for procurement of 500,000 MT coal back in 28 Jun’19, seeking supply of coal grades pertaining to 5000, 5800 and 6300 GCV.
Apart from coal supplies, the EOI includes service requirement for coal transportation by Road-cum-Rail mode to TSPL’s plant location from coal mines of Mahanadi Coalfields Ltd (MCL). Besides, covering of rakes by Tarpaulin for the loaded rakes also forms a part of the requirement. Notably, supplies from MCL constitute an integral part of TSPL’s domestic coal sourcing.
In addition, TSPL has also invited prominent vendors, capable of executing the following jobs:
(a) Consultancy services for FGD engineering review.
(b) Service related to civil, mechanical, electrical, IT, infrastructure, custom handling services, pond ash transportation, 400 KV switchyard updation, coal sampling-analysis and shifting of silo blowers.
(c) Equipment and spares of boiler, turbine, generator, coal handling plant, ash handling plant, electrical, control and instrumentation, mechanical area, railway area, Balance of plant (water system, fuel oil handling, H2 generation, lab equipment, Hoist crane, safety-fire protection system), Admin and IT.
On the performance front, power generation from TSPL was marked at 5.715 BU during the first 6 months of FY20 (Apr-Sep’19), registering a growth of 4% on the year from 5.501 BU in Apr-Sep’18 period.
The power company boost a superior closing coal stock of 0.467 MnT at the end of Sep’19 as against 0.185 MnT noted in the year-ago month. However, total coal receipt in the 6-month period had fell 4% Y-o-Y to 3.47 MnT in the current fiscal.
