India: Thermal coal port stocks largely stable w-o-w – week 32, 2024

Non-coking or thermal coal stocks at Indian ports were at 14.45 million tonnes (mnt) in week 32 against 14.5 mnt in week 31, stable w-o-w, as per data compiled by BigMint.

Company-wise break-up

  • Stocks held by Adani Enterprises dropped 5% to 4.75 mnt in week 32 against 4.98 mnt in week 31.
  • Agrawal Coal’s port stocks rose slightly by 3% w-o-w to 1.1 mnt in week 32 compared to 1.07 mnt in week 31.

Port-wise break-up

  • Stocks at Paradip Port are stable at 1.57 mnt compared to 1.59 mnt last week.
  • Magdalla and Dhamra Port saw a respective decrease in stocks by 7% and 4.2% to 1.12 mnt and 1.29 mnt in week 32 compared to 1.2 mnt and 1.35 mnt, respectively, last week.
  • Mundra Port’s thermal stocks were at 0.97 mnt in week 32, up by 22.4% w-o-w and Vizag Port’s stock is down by 18.3% to 0.73 mnt in week 32.
