India: Thermal coal imports fall to just over 5 mnt in first two weeks of April

India’s thermal coal imports fell by 16% to 5.2 mnt during 1-13 Apr’22 compared with the same period last month, CoalMint vessel data reveals. The decline in shipments comes in the backdrop of elevated coal prices following the western nations imposing sanctions on Russia amid the Ukraine crisis. Shipments from Indonesia stood at 3.8 mnt during the period.
