India: Tata steel reports drop in crude steel output while sales surge in FY ’21

Tata Steel Ltd., a leading steel manufacturer witnessed 7% decline in its crude steel production in FY ’21 to 16.93 mn t in contrast with 18.20 mn t in FY ’20 due to disruptions caused by the on-going pandemic. However, despite the disruption sales grew over strong downstream demand by 2% to 17.30 mn t in FY ’21 as against 16.97 mn t in the CPLY. Meanwhile, export volumes stood at 11% of total sales.
