Tata Steel Mining Ltd (TSML) and Jindal Stainless Ltd (JSL) have inked an MoU recently to jointly excavate chrome ore locked up in the boundary between the mines of the two companies located in Sukinda of Odisha’s Jajpur district. The MoU is expected to facilitate conservation of chromite ore and set a unique example for sustainable chrome ore mining. Both TSML and JSL would now strive to get necessary statutory approvals from concerned authorities before jointly starting mining operations, as per reports.
