- New range targets infrastructure and industrial construction segments
- Jamshedpur facility to support domestic and overseas markets
Tata Steel Colors Private Limited (TSCPL) has launched its globally recognised Colorcoat range of pre-painted steel products in India, targeting demand for high-performance roofing and wall-cladding solutions across infrastructure, industrial and commercial construction segments.
The launch expands the company’s offering in the value-added colour-coated steel segment, where coating performance, corrosion resistance, aesthetic durability and design flexibility are key considerations. The range combines advanced coating technology with a selection of colours and finishes, targeting applications that require long-term performance under varying climatic and operating conditions.
Manufactured at TSCPL’s facility in Jamshedpur, the products will be marketed and distributed in India and overseas. According to the company, the range has been customised for Indian climatic conditions and is designed to provide colour and gloss retention, corrosion and cut-edge protection, scratch resistance and long-term aesthetic performance.
Infrastructure and industrial applications in focus
The Colorcoat range is intended for roofing and wall-cladding applications across metro and transit infrastructure, ports, warehouses, distribution centres, manufacturing and automotive facilities, commercial buildings, defence establishments and institutional projects.
Pre-painted steel is used in building-envelope applications where durability, appearance and resistance to environmental exposure are important considerations. In industrial and commercial construction, coating performance can influence material selection by affecting maintenance requirements and the long-term appearance of buildings. The range’s selection of colours and finishes is also intended to provide greater design flexibility for architects, developers and construction companies.
Focus on product differentiation and coating performance
The launch highlights the role of differentiated, value-added products in the colour-coated steel market. Beyond base steel specifications, coating technology and the ability to retain appearance under challenging climatic conditions can influence purchasing decisions, particularly in applications involving prolonged exposure to heat, moisture and corrosive environments.
TSCPL said the new range brings globally established European expertise and coating technology to India, adapted to local climatic requirements. Manufacturing at Jamshedpur will support the company’s plans to serve both domestic and international markets.
Commenting on the launch, Praveen V. Thampi, Managing Director of Tata Steel Colors, said the company aims to provide access to advanced global solutions that combine longevity, design and environmental performance to support India’s infrastructure development.
The company has not disclosed the range’s manufacturing capacity, investment, pricing or sales targets.
