Domestic Sales Performance:

  • Overall Tata Motors’ domestic sales, declined 41% m-o-m at 39,530 units last month against 66,609 units sold in March.
  • Total commercial vehicle sales fell to 14,435 units in April, compared to 39,955 units in March.
  • Total passenger vehicle sales recorded 25,095 units, down 15% on a monthly basis.

As the COVID situation continues to worsen in India, auto sales have taken a significant hit in April given regional lockdowns, supply constraints and lower footfalls. It is seen as short-term hindrance as the sales are expected to rebound sharply once the situation is constrained.
