India: Tata Motors signs MoU with Maharashtra govt to set up vehicle scrapping facility

  • India’s largest auto manufacturer, Tata Motors, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Maharashtra government for establishing a Registered Vehicle Scrapping Facility (RVSF).
  • The proposed facility would have the capacity to recycle up to 35,000 end-of-life passenger and commercial vehicles in a year.
  • The scrappage unit will help phase out unfit and polluting vehicles, the company stated.
