Tata Metaliks has reported the shutdown of one of its blast furnaces at Kharagpur plant for maintenance and repair (including hearth profiling) from 19 Sep’20. The furnace is expected to resume operations in the second half of the Oct month, the company informed in a press release. The plant’s annual hot metal production capacity is 500,000 t out of which 200,000 t is converted into Ductile Iron (DI) pipes and 300,000 t into pig iron.
