India: Tata Metaliks increases pig iron price by 2%

Tata Metaliks has raised basic grade pig iron prices by 2.3% or INR 900/t ($12/t) following increase in offers by the private plants as well at SAIL’s auction due to slight supply shortage in the spot market and rising steel prices.

  • Fresh offers for basic grade pig iron floated by the company stand at INR 40,100/t.
  • Foundry grade pig iron offers are yet to be declared for Aug’21. Jul prices were hovering at INR 41,800/t. Prices are exw-Kharagpur and applicable for Kolkata and Howrah markets.
  • Steel grade pig iron offers by Durgapur plants reported at INR 39,200/t exw – an increase of INR 1,100/t w-o-w.
