Tata Metaliks Ltd (TML) has raised pig iron prices by INR 2,100/t in foundry grade & INR 1,500/t for basic (steel) grade, effective from today (1st Jan’21). The current offer of foundry grade pig iron is reported at INR 39,900/t ($545) & for low silicon (1-1.5%) pig iron is reported at INR 36,500/t ($500), ex-plant, Kharagpur, eastern India. Significant increase in raw material & scrap prices, supply constraints, has led to constant surge in prices, industry experts reported to SteelMint. TML has a hot metal capacity of 550,000t p.a.
