Tata Metaliks Ltd (TML) has again reduced its foundry grade pig iron price by INR 1,000/t ($14) & basic grade by approx INR 2,200/t ($30). The current offers for foundry grade are reported at INR 37,000/t & for basic grade (Si 1-1.5%) at INR 33,300/t ex-plant, Kharagpur, eastern India & are applicable for Kolkata & Howrah market. The company has slashed prices due to a constant drop in prices through the private pig iron producers owing to falling steel prices. In Jan’21, SteelMint’s assessment for steel grade pig iron of private plants fell by INR 2,500-4,500/t.
