India: TATA Metaliks’ DI Pipes production likely to see a decline

Tata Metaliks Ltd (TML), in a recent BSE filing said that they have taken steps to comply with the notification of Government of West Bengal, restricting operations in industries, factories, mills & manufacturing units to 50% of total strength. As a result, the company is expecting a decline in the production of its finished goods especially DI pipes since the pipes’ production largely depends on manpower.

TML has an annual production capacity of around 550,000 t of hot metal, out of which over 200,000 t is converted into DI Pipes and the rest into Pig Iron. The company has reported a fall in DI Pipe sales by 11% y-o-y to 1,94,000 t in FY21.
