Limited Supply of Scrap and high prices of Ingot and Billet pushed Structure prices up.
Structure Prices registered sharp improvement in Ahmedabad, owing to limited supply & resulting increased prices of Scrap. In a week’s time, Ahmedabad’s Structure offers increased by INR 800/MT. Today, Channel 100 mm offered at INR 34,700/MT. As ship Breaking Scrap offers of Bhavnagar improves upto INR 1,100/MT (for 4 Ane) in W-o-W basis. Meanwhile, Ingot prices shows significant price improvement of INR 1,300/MT.
On the other side, Mumbai Structure prices increased by INR 100-200/MT, where offers remain unchanged from last 2 weeks.
According to a local trader based at Mumbai, “Demand is not increased for material but hike in Semi finish prices pushed Structure offers marginally.”
Raipur based light Structure manufacturers slightly increased offer prices. In this week prices up by INR 100-200/MT. Angle 50 mm traded at INR 31,700/MT today in Raipur.
Major market players expect that Structure prices in Durgapur might hike in coming days. As prices of Semi Finish are already start improving owing to shortage of raw material.
