India structure prices continue to remain constant

Structure prices in Mumbai are stable as Angle 40, 50 last traded at Rs 35500/t (Basic) with marginal improvement of Rs 300/T on WoW basis.  Trade activity in the region is halted due to ongoing dispute of LBT. “We are opposing Local body tax (LBT) imposed by the state government against octroi w.e.f. 01.10.2013. We are going on indefinite strike from 22 April”, said Bombay Iron Merchant Association in a circular released. LBT will be imposed on and above turnover of 3 lakhs from outside purchase and Rs 4 lakhs from local purchase.

Raipur heavy structure Beam 200 is constant at Rs 32700-33300/T (Basic). Premium brand material is available at Rs 33,000-33,300/T. In line 400 Beam is available at Rs 32,900-33,500. Prices volatility are in range of Rs 300-500/T MoM. along with low demand as compare to TMT sales, said local manufacturer.  

Durgapur structure prices are also constant as light angle 40,50,65,75 are trading at Rs 33,500-34,000/T (basic), 200 Beam of premium brand is offered at Rs 34,500/T and 400 Beam Rs 35,500/T. “Demand from local market is subdued but enquiry from North India is good. We expect price to remain constant”, said manufacturer.
