The strike by Induction furnaces in Raipur has been called off for the time being. A meeting is to be organized by the Chhattisgarh Mini Steel Plant Association on 15th December to review the situation.
In response to their previous request made to the Chhattisgarh State Government, the Chief Minister has asked NMDC to increase the supply of iron ore. Near about 9000 MT of iron ore is coming on a daily basis from NMDC.
However, one the main reasons behind shutting down of furnaces i.e. higher electricity charges still remains intact. No such clue regarding the reduction of electricity tariffs has come from the State Electricity Board.
Chhattisgarh Mini Steel Plant Association’s president Ashok Surana says that if things remain same till 15th December then they would again go for a strike. And this time the amount of participation would increase and might include Rolling mills as well.
