Union Steel Minister RCP Singh has directed state-run MOIL to raise production up to its EC limit, which stands at 1.86 mn t. India’s crude steel capacity will reach 300 mn t by 2030 and manganese ore requirement will be around 6.5 mn t. However, total requirement will be 10 mn t by 2030, factoring in exports. MOIL produced 1.1 mn t out of the country’s total output of 2.4 mn t in FY’21.
