As reported earlier, the Punjab State Power Corporation Ltd (PSPCL) had imposed a 72-hour power cut from 1-4 Jul’21 which lasted till 2 pm on 4 Jul. Steel mills have gradually resumed operations, as per latest reports. However, most industry insiders expect that the weekly power shutdown may continue next week, if the monsoons don’t approach till that time and/or power demand shows no signs of slackening. However, a fresh notification is yet to be issued by PSPCL in this regard.
