Sponge iron manufacturers based in eastern region of India have booked around 100,000 MT lumps from Serajuddin Mines at revised prices, SteelMint learned from market participants.
Serajuddin Mines, which is the second largest private merchant miner in Odisha with an annual capacity of 15 MnT had reduced lumps prices by Rs 500/t (USD 7) last week on increased production.
Current offers for 5-18mm Calibrated Lumps Ore (CLO) stands at Rs 3,800/t, ex- Serajuddin mines, including royalty, DMF and NMET. This size is popular amongst sponge manufacturers.
