India: Sponge iron prices fall despite active trades in Odisha

SteelMint’s price assessment for sponge iron in Rourkela stands at INR 31,750/t, a decrease of INR 150/t on 6 Jan’22. A total of 2,900 t of C-DRI (70% lumps, 30% fines) deals were confirmed in the range of INR 31,700-31,900/t exw. On the other hand, steel billet prices witnessed an uptick of INR 300/t, d-o-d, SteelMint notes.
