Sponge iron prices in Odisha’s Rourkela fell by INR 300/t on 18 Nov’21. SteelMint’s assessment for sponge iron, C-DRI (70% lumps and 30% fines), stands at INR 30,300/t. A total of 1,620 t of deals were confirmed at INR 30,300-30,600/t exw-Rourkela today. According to sources, demand remained limited, given the sluggish trends in steel billet prices, which edged lower by INR 400/t on a d-o-d basis.
