Pellet-based sponge iron (PDRI) prices in Karnataka’s Bellary rose by INR 100/t, whereas iron ore-based material, CDRI (FeM 80%), prices were recorded stable today.
- 1,200 t of PDRI deals were confirmed at INR 39,000-39,200/t against offers at INR 39,500/t exw.
- SteelMint’s price assessment for CDRI stands at INR 40,000/t ($525) & around 1,600 t of deals were reported.
- Price fluctuation and coal price variation have forced sponge iron producers to wait and watch.
