India: Sponge iron import demand from Bangladesh remains weak

Indian Sponge iron (100% lump) export offers to Bangladesh rose by $20-25/t, w-o-w, to $415-420/t CPT Benapole on surge in Indian domestic prices.
However, demand remained slow from the Bangladeshi mills due to falling finished steel demand and cheaper scrap prices.
Buying interest for sponge iron was reported lower by around $30/t compared to floated offers, eastern India-based exporters informed SteelMint.
