Sponge C-DRI (FeM 80%, mix material) prices rose by INR 250/t to INR 30,500-30,600/t ($409) exw-Rourkela on 21 Jul’21.SteelMint tracked around 4,500 t of C-DRI (70:30 mix material) deals at INR 30,500-30,700/t exw. Also, a few deals were reported for Jalna in Maharashtra at around INR 31,000/t exw for 100% lump grade material. Freight is around INR 2,200/t for Jalna. According to sources, sponge iron producers are keeping prices firm following a surge in billet prices and good demand along with an uptick in iron ore and coal prices.
