The price of South African RB2 (5500 NAR) coal is being assessed at INR 7,500/t, ex-Gangavaram, as per various confirmed deals heard on 28 May’21. With the gradual easing of lockdown restrictions, inquiries from sponge iron manufacturers are gaining momentum. However, no bulk bookings have been heard so far. Prices at Mangalore and Vizag ports are assessed at INR 7,500/t and INR 7,400/t respectively.
