India: South African RB2 coal trade picks up amid domestic shortage

In a confirmed deal, about 2,000 t of South African RB2 (5500 NAR) grade coal was sold at INR 11,000/t at Gangavaram Port, while another 8,000 t of the same material was sold at INR 10,950/t. Portside trade for RB2 coal in the eastern region gained momentum this week as domestic coal prices increased substantially at the recently held auctions.
