CoalMint confirmed a deal for 2,000 t of South African RB2 (5500 NAR) grade coal being sold at INR 9,200/t ex-Gangavaram, while a few offers were heard at INR 9,000/t. Following deals getting concluded at even INR 9,400/t, Indian sponge iron units grew reluctant to accept high prices for RB2, forcing a few traders to lower their offers for small deals. On the other hand, direct importers are still reluctant to lower rates and are offering at INR 9400-9,500/t, as the landed cost of imports is coming to around INR 10,000/t.
