In a confirmed deal, 4,000 t of South African RB2 (NAR 5500 kcal/kg) coal was sold at INR 24,000/t at Vizag port today, while offers stood at INR 25,000/t. The ongoing tension between Russia and Ukraine continues to keep RB1 (NAR 6000 kcal/kg) coal prices at an all-time high of $442/t FOB as on 8 Mar’22. Enquiries from sponge iron players, however, remained limited, sources informed.
