As sponge iron manufacturers continued to stick to small parcel trades, 1,500 t of South African RB2 (5500 kcal/kg NAR) coal was sold at INR 21,500/t at Krishnapatnam Port. In another deal, 1,000 t of RB3 (4800 kcal/kg NAR) was booked at INR 18,500/t at Mangalore Port. However, there were no major trades in Gangavaram and Vizag Ports as buyers continued to adopt a wait-and-watch approach amid elevated imported coal prices.
