India: South African RB2 coal sold at INR 21,000/t at Visakhapatnam Port

Amid limited enquiries from sponge iron manufacturers, 2000 t of South African RB2 (5500 kcal/kg NAR) coal was sold at INR 21,000/t at Visakhapatnam Port. Despite rising imported coal prices, limited demand from the sponge sector has compelled traders to keep portside prices within a tight range. Amid strong demand from European buyers, South African RB1 (6000 kcal/kg NAR) coal prices rose by $25/t d-o-d to $308/t FOB on 12 April.
