India: South African RB2 coal sold at INR 17,800/t at Vizag Port

In a confirmed deal, 2,000 t of South African RB2 (5000 kcal/kg NAR) grade coal was booked at INR 17,800/t at Vizag Port, while prices at Ennore Port were at INR 18,500/t. Low-CV RB3 (4800 kcal/kg NAR) prices were also higher at INR 16,000/t. Sponge iron manufacturers have switched their preference to imported coal over domestic coal. However, bulk trading activity continues to remain limited, market participants informed.
