As per BigMint’s assessment, South African RB2 (5500 NAR) thermal coal prices rose w-o-w to INR 8,500/t from INR 8,450/t ex-Gangavaram, while RB3 (4800 NAR) was stable w-o-w at INR 7,200/t. The uptrend is attributed to production issues in South Africa, which has resulted in fewer cargoes and reduced portside stocks in India. However, buying activity remained limited despite tight supply and marginal price gains.
