South African thermal coal prices at Indian ports dropped further this week amid a severe demand collapse. RB2 (5500 NAR) at Paradip fell by INR 50/t w-o-w to INR 7,900/t, while RB3 (4800 NAR) slipped by INR 50/t to INR 6,900/t. Market participants pointed to an unprecedented slowdown, with minimal active inquiries. Sentiment remained extremely weak, marking one of the worst phases seen in recent times.
