India: Ship imports for recycling down 5% m-o-m in Alang in Feb’23

Indian ship imports comprising 1,09,929 LDT arrived at Alang port for recycling in Feb’23. These volumes were down by 5% from 1,16,139.71 LDT in Jan’23. In spite of increasing prices the Indian ship-breaking market was less active last month with moderate demand in the domestic market due to liquidity issues. The average price inched up by 5% m-o-m to $573/LDT.
