India: SECL starts coal loading from new rail corridor

South Eastern Coalfields Ltd (SECL) has despatched the first rake of coal from the Gharghoda freight terminal which lies in the 136-km-long rail line connecting Kharsia, Korichapar, Dharamjaygarh and Korba. The rail corridor has been built under the flagship of SECL’s subsidiary company, Chhattisgarh East Rail Limited (CERL), to facilitate coal transport from the Mand-Raigarh coalfields. It has capacity to load three rakes of coal per day.
