India: Scrapped ship imports rebound m-o-m in Sep’22 despite slowdown in activities

Ten vessels of scrapped ships totalling 69,561 LDT arrived at Alang Port for recycling in Sep’22, a whopping 134% rise compared to 29,789 LDT in Aug’22. Even while imports increased, the volumes were still relatively low compared to the previous months due to low activities, perhaps as a result of the nation’s ongoing struggles with currency depreciation.
