The Supreme Court has allowed Orissa Minerals Development Company (OMDC) to resume mining at Roida-Bhadrasahi iron ore and Bhadrasahi iron and manganese blocks after OMDC had filed several applications seeking permission to resume mining. Condoning the delay in payment of compensation for illegal mining, the apex court ordered the state government to verify the undisposed stock with the miner to facilitate its sale.
