Sarda Energy and Minerals, a major steel manufacturer in central India, has started operations at the Gare Palma IV/7 coal block, which the company won in the first tranche of commercial mining auctions. The coal will be utilised both for captive consumption and commercial sale. In addition, the company has informed that its coal washery is ready to start operations after receiving requisite approvals.
