On 25 February 2026, Sandur Manganese and Iron Ore Limited (SMIORE) conducted an auction offering 22,176 t of manganese ore, comprising both fines and lumps. The material spanned grades from 18% to 35% Mn, with sizes ranging between -10 mm and 100 mm.
The auction witnessed steady participation, culminating in the sale of approximately 12,600 t-about 57% of the total offered volume-while 9,576 t remained unsold. Buying interest was notably strong for Mn 30-32% grade ore, with seven lots successfully attracting confirmed bids.
Bidding trends were broadly unchanged compared to the previous week
Bidding patterns in the auction concluded on 25 February indicated steady momentum compared with the previous event held on 18 February. The weighted average bid for Mn 18-20% grade lumps increased by 3% to INR 3,421/t ($37/t), up from INR 3,306/t ($36/t) in the earlier auction.
Meanwhile, bids for Mn 26-28% and Mn 28-30% grades remained largely unchanged, reflecting stable demand across these segments. No lots were offered for Mn 22-24%, Mn 30-32%, and Mn 32-34% grades in the 25 February auction.
Separately, BigMint’s assessment showed silico manganese (60-14) prices in Vizag edging down by INR 300/t ($3/t) w-o-w to INR 72,900/t ($798/t) on 25 February, compared with INR 73,300/t ($801/t) on 18 February.
