Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) conducted an e-auction yesterday for 56,000 t iron ore fines (Fe 61%) from its Dalli mines, Chhattisgarh. The auction received a good response with entire quantity fetching bids. One lot of 28,000 t received bids at INR 3,740/t and another lot of 28,000t received bids at INR 3,580/t (loaded to the wagon, including royalty of INR 650), SteelMint learned from its sources.
The company had scheduled an auction from its Dalli mines on 9th Sep. However, it was cancelled by the management.
In the last e-auction conducted on 3rd Sep’20, the entire quantity of 28,000 t was booked at INR 3,900/t (loaded to the wagon, including royalty of INR 650) against the set base price for the auction at INR 3,100/t (loaded to the wagon, including royalty). This was the company’s first auction conducted from Chhattisgarh, as auctions were getting delayed due to lack of necessary clearances.
SAIL is yet to receive permission for the sale of the iron ore dump from the respective state governments, officials informed in today’s quarterly conference call.
