SAIL’s crude coal tar auction held on 22 Oct’25 from Rourkela did not attract any bids, mainly due to the relatively high offer price of around INR 37,100/t, which deterred buyers, said sources. The auction was initially planned for 9 Oct’25 for 6,400 t but was later cancelled and rescheduled for 22 Oct with an increased quantity of 9,500 t, aligning with revised supply and market considerations.
